Crafting the highest quality picture frames at the same location on Capitol Hill for more than forty years, this small in-house frame shop embraces the design philosophy that the frame and mat should enhance the art, not compete with it.  These frame designs can be tailored to suit any specific style and budget requirements from our selection of over 6,000 frames and complete line of archival mats.

Sue is only the third owner of Capitol Hill Art & Frame, continuing the tradition of fine design and personalized service that is a trademark of this Hill landmark. She brings a history of museum exhibit design and art gallery management, as well as twenty years of picture framing experience to the task of designing and mounting just about anything imaginable in a frame.  A list of loyal clients includes the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution, the Architect of the Capitol, as well as many prominent artists, designers and collectors.

The gallery space at Capitol Hill Art and Frame is host to exhibits curated by local artists.  Pleased to be a part of the talented and energetic arts community on the Hill and in the DC metro area at large, the gallery has participated in both FotoWeekDC and CraftWeekDC and is affiliated with several arts organizations.
