Could I have a copy of your price list?

Unfortunately, there are so many variables in computing the cost of custom framing that it is impossible to have a "one size fits all" price list. Fortunately, I have over 6000 frame samples; so when you bring your work to me, I can find the right design solution for both aesthetics and budget.

What if I need something framed today?

I do stock frame lengths to cut for same day/rush service.  The normal turn around time for a custom frame is one-two weeks, depending on what materials are needed.  Rush fees are applicable to any custom job completed in less that one week.

Do you do the framing onsite?

Yes, your work never leaves the shop while it is being framed.

I have a frame already, can you cut a mat so my work fits?

Yes, I can cut a mat for your frame.   This can be done relatively quickly, so is often a good solution for rush jobs that can use pre-made frames.  I can also cut down most existing frames one inch or more on each side -- haven't yet mastered making your frame larger....

What does "Right Back" mean?

Capitol Hill Art & Frame is a one person shop.  I never like to inconvenience my clients, but if I need to leave the shop to run errands, I post a note on the door with the time I will return.  If I am just running out for coffee or to bring back lunch, the note says 'right back', which averages about 5 minutes or so. If I know that there is a day or a substantial part of a day when I am not at the shop, I will post that information on the door in advance as well on the answering machine.  You may also phone the shop at 202 546-2700 to make sure I am around when you are planning to visit. If it helps to calm you while you wait, just remember that I never get to call in sick....

May my dog come inside?

Dogs are quite welcome to visit in the shop if they are on a leash and are well behaved.  Just don't tell my cats...
